Privacy Policy for Maze Quest
Offline play, no ads, no in-app purchases. Optional cloud saves use Google Play Games. Local and cloud copies have separate deletion controls.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Enocus Limited publishes Maze Quest, an Android maze game (package com.enocus.mazequest). We are responsible for the personal information we handle in providing the game and responding to you. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].
You can play offline without creating an Enocus account. Maze Quest is a paid game with no advertisements or in-app purchases. We do not sell personal information or use game progress for advertising. We do not operate a player-profile, gameplay analytics or cloud-save server of our own.
Progress and preferences are saved on your device. Where Google Play Games is available in your version, you can choose to enable cloud saves. Google also processes information for its own Play services as explained below. This policy describes those different activities; it does not mean that offline progress is automatically uploaded to Enocus.
2. Information stored on your device
The game saves level completion, stars, best steps and times, medals, daily challenge records and completion dates, streaks, shards, earned rewards, unlocked orbs, and tutorial status. An unfinished maze can include its layout, orb position, collected keys, visited passages, movement history, hints, elapsed time and the states of its mechanisms. These records let you resume play and keep your achievements.
Sound, haptics, control choice and the equipped orb are device preferences. If you connect cloud saves, the device also stores your cloud preference, Play Games player identifier and synchronization metadata so the game can recognize the connected profile and reconcile saves safely.
Android backup or device-transfer features may copy eligible local game data according to your device and Google account settings. This is separate from Maze Quest's optional Play Games cloud saves. The game's cloud connection preference and account-linking metadata are excluded from Android backup and device transfer.
3. Google Play Games and optional cloud saves
Some versions may not yet have Google Play Games configured. In those versions the game does not initialize the Play Games SDK and cloud saves are unavailable. When the integration is configured, the SDK can attempt automatic authentication with an existing Play Games profile on startup, independently of the cloud-save setting. The game suppresses automatic profile-creation prompts at startup. Choosing to connect cloud saves can request Google sign-in or profile setup.
Google's Play Games SDK processes gamer identity, analytics and diagnostic information for its services, stability and improvement. Turning off cloud saves stops future synchronization initiated by Maze Quest; it does not switch off Google's platform authentication or its SDK's own processing. Manage those services through your Google account and Play Games settings. Google's privacy policy and SDK disclosure explain its processing.
Cloud saves are off by default on each installation. To use them, open Settings, then Cloud saves, and choose Enable cloud saves / restore. The game uses the Play Games player identifier and display name to associate the backup with the right profile and show which player you are connecting, restoring or deleting. It does not request your Google password, email address or general access to your Google Drive files.
When enabled, the game sends selected progress to Google's app-specific Saved Games storage associated with that profile. The archive contains campaign completion and records, stars and medals, shards and reward history, unlocked orbs, daily records and completion history, tutorial status, and a complete saved maze including its mechanism states and undo history. Sound, haptics, controls and the equipped-orb preference stay on each device.
The game attempts synchronization at gameplay checkpoints, such as completing a maze, pausing, returning to the menu, going into the background and periodically while moving. You can also choose Sync now. Offline changes can remain queued; a queued message does not confirm that an upload has reached Google's servers. Only uploaded progress can be restored on another device. When saves conflict, the game combines compatible records and may ask which unfinished maze or shard/orb state to keep.
Turning cloud saves off keeps your local progress and the existing cloud backup. A request already queued with Google may still finish. To delete the cloud backup, use the separate deletion action described in section 8.
4. Support, purchases and permissions
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use these to answer questions, investigate problems and handle privacy requests. Please do not send passwords or payment-card details. Your email provider and ours also process correspondence to deliver it.
The upfront game purchase is handled by Google Play under its payment and privacy terms. Maze Quest has no in-app billing integration. Enocus does not receive your full payment-card details from the game. Google may retain its own purchase and download records, which are separate from your saved maze progress.
Maze Quest uses internet and network-state permissions for Google Play Games connectivity and cloud saves, and vibration for optional haptic feedback. It does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. There is no advertising SDK, developer-operated gameplay telemetry, or separate crash-reporting SDK in the game. This does not prevent Android or Google Play from handling service diagnostics under your platform settings.
If you visit our public legal pages, the hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, such as IP address and browser request details, to deliver and protect the website. The supplied Maze Quest legal pages do not embed advertising, analytics, third-party fonts or tracking scripts. External links open services governed by their own policies.
5. Purposes and legal bases
We process game records and preferences to provide gameplay, remember achievements and resume unfinished mazes. When you request cloud saves, we use the selected records and player details to provide backup, restoration, conflict handling and deletion. We use correspondence to provide support and handle your requests.
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our bases are performance of a contract where needed to provide the game or requested service; legitimate interests in providing reliable support, protecting saves, securing the service and preventing abuse; and legal obligations where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is required, it must be obtained separately and can be withdrawn for future processing. Reading this policy or continuing to play is not, by itself, consent.
You do not have to provide correspondence or enable cloud saves to play offline. Without the relevant player details and save data we cannot provide the optional cloud service. Google explains its own legal bases for platform, SDK and payment processing in its policies. We do not use your information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Recipients and international processing
The recipients described in this policy are Google for Play Games and its Saved Games storage, and service providers delivering email or the public legal website. We may disclose information we hold when legally required, or when necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse or secure our services. We do not share player data with advertising or marketing partners.
Google and other providers may process information outside your country, including outside the UK or EEA. Google's transfer documentation describes its applicable adequacy arrangements and safeguards, including standard contractual clauses. For information about international handling of correspondence you send Enocus, or to request details of applicable safeguards, contact [email protected].
7. Retention and security
Local game data remains until you clear it or uninstall, subject to Android backup and restore settings. An optional cloud save remains in Google's storage until deleted through the game or Google's controls, subject to Google's retention practices. Turning synchronization off or uninstalling does not itself request cloud deletion. Google manages retention of its own SDK, profile and purchase records under its policies.
We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to deal with the request and any necessary legal, security or dispute records. In deciding retention, we consider whether the issue remains open, whether records are needed for a legal obligation or claim, and whether the purpose can be met with less information. You can ask us to delete correspondence; if we must retain a limited record, we will explain why.
The game uses Android's app storage protections, limits saved-game access to the connected player and avoids uploading device preferences in its cloud archive. Google states that Play Games SDK data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. We do not claim end-to-end encryption, and no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
8. Delete progress or a cloud backup
If you want to remove both cloud and local progress, turn off cloud saves on your other devices first. Keep Maze Quest installed on the device you will use to request cloud deletion, and connect to the internet.
Open Maze Quest > Settings > Cloud saves > Delete cloud backup. Check the player name and confirm. The game turns synchronization off and requests deletion of its named Maze Quest backup. If deletion cannot be confirmed, reconnect and retry. This action leaves progress on the phone and copies on other devices intact; a device with cloud saves still enabled can upload its copy again. A previously queued request may also finish.
To remove local progress and preferences, use Android Settings > Apps > Maze Quest > Storage > Clear storage / Clear data, or uninstall. Android wording varies by device. Review device backup and restore settings too, because a backup can restore local data later. These actions alone do not delete the Play Games cloud backup.
You can also use Google's individual-game data deletion controls for Maze Quest. Those controls can affect other Play Games information as well. Play Games data, Google Play History and Google purchase records have separate controls and retention rules. Neither the in-game cloud deletion action nor an email to Enocus deletes your Google account or Play Games profile.
Enocus has no separate player account to delete and no server copy of your saved maze. To request deletion of information you sent us directly, email [email protected] with the subject 'Maze Quest privacy request' and describe the correspondence concerned. We may need proportionate verification before acting. Do not send identity documents or passwords unless specifically necessary and requested through an appropriate channel.
9. Young players
Maze Quest is intended for teens and adults aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. Google account and Play Games age requirements depend on country and account settings; a 13+ intended audience does not override them. Parents and guardians can use Android and Google Play family controls.
We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Younger players should ask a parent or guardian for help before contacting support or using optional online services.
10. Your rights, contact and policy updates
Depending on where you live and the processing concerned, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact Enocus Limited at [email protected] to exercise applicable rights or ask about this policy. We respond within applicable legal time limits. Google account and service data may need to be managed directly through Google's controls.
You may complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would also welcome the opportunity to address your concern directly.
We may update this policy when the game, its services or legal requirements change. We will update the date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. The policy is available in Settings without an internet connection and on our public privacy page.
