Privacy Policy for Grid Slice
This Privacy Policy explains how Enocus Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile game Grid Slice (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who we are
Enocus Limited is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16482583.
Registered office:
71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden,
London, WC2H 9JQ,
United Kingdom
Privacy / Play Store contact: [email protected]
2. Overview — what this App does with data
Grid Slice is a single-player arcade game. We do not require you to create an Enocus account, and we do not operate our own cloud save or player profile servers for this App. You may optionally enable cloud backup through Google Play Games Saved Games, using your Google Play Games account.
In short:
- Game progress and settings are stored locally on your device.
- If you enable cloud backup, selected gameplay data is also stored with Google Play Games.
- Optional ads are provided by Google AdMob.
- Optional in-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing.
- We do not sell your personal information.
3. Information we process
3.1 Information stored on your device (by the App)
The App stores gameplay and preference data locally (for example using Android SharedPreferences), such as:
- Highest unlocked level and high score
- Your saved run, including level, score, lives, captured territory, enemies, power-ups and timers
- Settings (sound, music, haptics, control mode, accessibility options)
- Onboarding completion status
- Limited local counters (for example free daily revive usage)
- A local “ads removed” flag after a purchase, so premium status can work offline
- Local difficulty adaptation stats (for example deaths/clears per level). This stays on the device and is not uploaded to Enocus servers
If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this local information may be deleted. Android backup features on your device may also back up some app data according to your device settings.
3.2 Information we do not collect ourselves
- No Enocus account registration
- No Enocus-operated analytics dashboard for individual players
- No Enocus-operated cloud storage of your level progress; optional cloud saves are hosted by Google
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location by the App
3.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the App may show advertisements, including interstitial ads and optional rewarded ads (for example to continue after losing a life). Ads are provided by Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads.
Google may collect or process device and advertising-related information in order to serve, measure, and improve ads. This can include items such as:
- Online identifiers (for example Android advertising ID, where available)
- IP address and approximate network/location information derived from it
- Device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language)
- Ad interaction and performance data
How Google uses data is governed by Google’s policies. Please review:
You may be able to reset or limit advertising personalisation in your Android settings (for example under Google → Ads / privacy settings, depending on your device).
3.4 In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
The App may offer a one-time purchase to remove interstitial ads (product such as “remove ads”). Payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. Google provides us with purchase/entitlement information needed to unlock the feature on your device.
See also the Google Payments Privacy Notice and Google Play terms.
3.5 Permissions the App uses
- Internet — to load ads and communicate with Google Play services
- Network state — to check connectivity for ads, purchases and cloud-backup deletion
- Vibrate — optional haptic feedback during gameplay (can be disabled in settings)
3.6 Optional Google Play Games cloud backup
Google Play Games may attempt automatic sign-in independently of whether cloud backup is enabled. Turning cloud backup off stops the game’s backup synchronization. Google’s Play Games Services SDK also processes analytics and diagnostic data for service stability and improvement, as described in Google’s privacy documentation.
Cloud backup is off by default. You can enable it in Settings → Cloud Backup or accept an in-game offer. Once enabled, the App automatically attempts to synchronize saved checkpoints, including level completion, captures, life loss, pausing and returning to the menu. Synchronization also runs when the App resumes. You can request a refresh with Sync Now. Offline progress stays on your device until synchronization can complete; a “backup queued” message does not guarantee that an upload has finished.
The cloud backup contains unlocked levels, best scores, level records, tutorial completion, daily free-continue usage and the full saved run. Google Play Games stores this data in its app-specific saved-game storage associated with the connected player. The App uses the Play Games player identifier and display name to connect to the appropriate backup and identify the player in backup and deletion confirmations. This integration does not give the App general access to your other Google Drive files.
Themes, sound/control/accessibility preferences, ad-consent choices, diagnostic counters, cloud-backup reminder choices and purchase ownership are not included in this cloud archive. Purchases are restored separately through Google Play Billing. We use the cloud-save data and Play Games player details to provide backup, restoration, synchronization and deletion; we do not sell them or use them for advertising.
Turning backup off pauses future App synchronization and keeps your phone progress and existing cloud save. A request already queued with Google may still finish. When you reconnect, different saved runs may require you to choose which to keep. To remove the cloud save, choose Delete Cloud Backup in Settings and confirm the named player. The App requests deletion of its saved-game backup and leaves backup off, even if deletion cannot be confirmed. Internet access is required; retry if the request fails. Phone progress and copies on other devices remain. Another device with backup enabled can upload a remaining copy again.
See our data deletion instructions, Google Privacy Policy and Google Play Games data controls.
4. Why we process information (purposes)
- To operate core gameplay and remember your progress/settings on the device
- When you enable cloud backup, to synchronize, restore and manage deletion of your saved gameplay data through Google Play Games
- To show ads in the free version and support an optional rewarded continue
- To process and honour “remove ads” purchases
- To adapt difficulty lightly using on-device stats
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law where required
5. Legal bases (UK GDPR / GDPR where applicable)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract / service delivery — providing the game you chose to install and optional backup/restoration you request
- Legitimate interests — securing the App, basic on-device adaptation, understanding ad/purchase functionality through Google’s services
- Consent — where required for certain advertising/storage technologies or personalised ads (handled via applicable Google/Android consent mechanisms in regions that require them)
- Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law
6. Sharing of information
We share information only as needed to run the App:
- Google (AdMob, Play Billing, Play services and optional Play Games Saved Games) as described above
- Authorities if required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell personal information. We do not share data with Enocus marketing partners for this App. Google processes data for its services under its own policies as described above.
7. International transfers
Google and other service providers may process data on servers outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, such transfers are made using appropriate safeguards described in those providers’ privacy documentation (for example Standard Contractual Clauses).
8. Retention
- On-device App data — retained until you clear app data, uninstall, or otherwise delete it (subject to device backups)
- Optional cloud-save data — kept in Google’s saved-game storage until deleted by you or through the service’s data controls, subject to Google’s policies. Turning backup off or uninstalling alone does not request cloud deletion.
- Ad and purchase data — retained by Google according to Google’s retention policies
- Emails you send us (for example to [email protected]) — retained as long as needed to respond and for legitimate business/legal records
9. Children
Grid Slice is intended for a general audience including older teens and adults (approximately ages 13+). It is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us directly, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps.
Parents/guardians should use Android and Google Play family controls as appropriate. If you configure the App as child-directed under Google Play Families policies, additional advertising restrictions apply; the standard free version uses Google AdMob suitable for a general audience, not a “designed for children” experience.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the UK and EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local App data, subject to Android backups. If you enabled cloud backup, delete the cloud save separately using Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete Cloud Backup, or Google Play Games data controls. Enocus does not maintain a separate server copy of your cloud save. Contact us if you need help with these controls or deletion of correspondence you sent us. See also Data deletion — Grid Slice.
For requests related to advertising identifiers or Google account data, you may also need to use Google’s tools and settings. To contact Enocus about privacy: [email protected].
You may lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local supervisory authority.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a mobile game that primarily stores data on-device and uses Google’s industry-standard billing and ads SDKs. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
12. Third-party links and ads
Ads may open third-party content or destinations not operated by Enocus Limited. Their privacy practices are their own. Please review those parties’ policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy, where permitted by law.
